Big Cypress Overnight Safari

Overnight in the Big Cypress could be the best field trip your youth group may experience.
This quality program with unique accommodations will leave an unforgettable experience!
This tour begins much like the day trip. During the ride your group will be divided into clans
of 9 children and one chaperone. The large chickee dorms will be
equipped with 10 freshly made beds and a towel for each person. Color
bracelets will be given out to divide the clans after which, check-in begins.
An educational walk through a cypress head will begin the tour. This will be followed by
a brown bag lunch (B.Y.O.). Beverages will be provided by the camp.
Next, one half of the group will depart on the day time swamp buggy tour,
while the other half begins the seminars. Two seminars will
be shared with the children: Arrowheads and primitive tools; beadwork.
Each student will make a necklace to keep and take home as a souvenir. After two hours, the
group will switch.
A buffet dinner and beverages will be served in the ranch
restaurant. After some free time the students will prepare for the evening
swamp buggy ride and Indian stories. An hour of Seminole
folklore will proceed an hour long buggy ride where spot lights
will illuminate indigenous animals. The mysterious cypress
forest will surely keep your group on it's toes!
After arrival back to the camp, the clans will prepare for bed. Modern showers and restroom
facilities will make this easy for them.
The next morning, a hearty breakfast will be served in the
restaurant. After breakfast, free time can be enjoyed to work on trip
books, walk the trail or finish the beadwork. An informative gator
and venomous snake demonstration will follow. After a buffet lunch
